I just returned from a day of teaching nutrition to the freshman health students at our local high school. I love interacting with these students because they have entered a time in their lives when they make many of their own food choices. This is new for many of them and they are very receptive to the help I can provide. We talked about the new MyPlate and nutrition requirements for teens.
Here is a snack I brought to class today that, combined with a glass of milk, will provide all the food groups in MyPlate: Afternoon trail mix- mix together Life Cereal, popcorn, sunflower seeds, Craisins, chocolate chips. Grab a serving and Enjoy!!
